Garon Brett - I Still Love You (3:49)
Fun fact, this tune is kind of like song inception. I was watching a video about the making of the song Thinking About You by Cody Fry. When writing that song he said he had been inspired by an Anomalie song. So, after hearing Thinking About You I was like, "Yo, I wanna write something that feels like this." Next thing you know, I'm at a songwriting retreat in St. George Utah with 16 other guys and I woke up and, while I was cutting some strawberries, told Nate Brown, "Dude, I've been wanting to make something that feels like this. Kind of do a little song inception, as it were." He dug it and went into another room while we were finishing up another tune. Later that afternoon he comes up to me and says, "Dude, I've got something going for this tune. Let's work on it after we eat." So, Nate, Cayson Ranshaw, Gabe Isaac and myself got in a room and we didn't stop smiling the rest of the day. We finished the tune, had Mason Murphy come in and lay down the guitar tracks and then recorded vocals. At some point late that night we had all 17 guys in a little bedroom just dancing, clapping while we recorded the last choruses of gang vocals. Then I went to bed still smiling. I don't think I've ever had so much fun writing a tune. Stoked for people to hear it!

For Michael Barrow, "6,023" is one of the most important songs he's ever written. While many of the band's other songs are often inspired by events in the lives of others, this one is 100% autobiographical. "I wrote it at a time when all of my waking moments were consumed by replayed memories of having lost one of the most important relationships of my life," he says. "I thought if I wrote it all down, it would help me to move on. It kind of worked."
